@TitaniumCarbine just use plyers on the oustide of it. happpened to me too.
great video on the ps3 fix. alot of users have had the ylod problem and i have found the best fix is this guide at fixps3(dot)info
this dudes voice puts me to sleep lol
@muxishine
It couldn’t be 4 yet, but 3 def. Mine got it’s first YLoD yesterday after 3 years 3 months. With more or less daily play at about 5 hours a day; with stints of up to 10 hours. or more, lol
@TitaniumCarbine
Try using pliers, worked for me after I stripped mine.
the screw to remove the hard drive on mine wont come off… ive had my dad try and even my neighbors and no progress. it wont budge and its completely stripped… wut do i do now?
wat did u use to clean the square box thing???
this ps3 ylod is like xbox360 rrod ??
Ohh okay. I get ya now.
@muxishine any ordinary house fan. just to keep the system cool
What kind of fan? What do you mean?
My one was about 4 yrs old when it did the 1st YLOD… I play it pretty much daily, and sometimes for over 10 hrs!
i did this procedure & it worked!! It powered up the system!! The only thing is that now it wont connect to the ps3 network or pick up on my wireless controls…
what did i do wrong?
i used this same guide to remove my 40gb and replace my ps3, i did have a tough time removing the hdd screw off my 40gb since sony screws suck and it was already stripped lol
thanks man, it works!
there are a few places that make crazy glue solvent. Might want to check either your local hardware stores or toy train/model shops.
baring that. extreme Cold can make crazy glue brittle. stick it in the freezer in a plastic freezer bag( to keep out the moisture) and let it sit over night. and try gently jarring the glue loose with a hobby knife.
@VirtuousCreature I think ur correct. On my 4th fix I decided to put extra thermal paste b/c it keeps wearing too fast. After I put it back together ps3 wouldn’t turn on and when I tried to redo it heatsink was kind of stuck but I still took it off.
I think I messed up my ps3… when I tried to plug out the connector for the fan, the plug and connector came out. I was stupid enough to put crazy glue on it to try to put it on, but it didnt work, any suggestions? =/
AHA! there it is! bottom left @ 1:24
That damn battery needs to come out for a few minutes to reset the clock and then fix the PSN sync issues.
I just used this tutorial to get down to my cmos clock battery. It fixed my PSN down issue. THANKS to uploader!!!!!!
How can i do for remove the fan of my ps3 40 gb
Please somebody
wheresthe damn battery in the 40 gig model Ooo
too parts to take apart, I won’t remember how to reassemble it back together lol rather just buy a new ps3 or send it in, sony most likely will give u a brand new ps3 like they did my cousin with a broken power supply.
Help! I’ve got my 40gb in pieces on my dining table, and I’ve lost a couple of the rubbery bits off the motherboard! Can I do without, or do I need to replace them, and if a replacement is needed, where can I get them? Please help, I really need to be an Alien! :=)
